GERMANY / North Rhine-Westphalia / Porta Westfalica / View from the 'Porta-Kanzel', a vantage point on the Jakobsberg in the Weser Mountains. Visitors can see the Weser River and the Emperor William Monument on the Wittekindsberg in the Wiehen Hills. The 88 m high important landmark was inaugurated in 1896. The Weser forms through the confluence of the rivers Fulda and Werra in Hannoversch Muenden. With a length of 452 kilometres, it is the fifth longest river in Germany.
